Hi, I'm Simon Yau

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, where I studied Information Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I have been into computers for about as long as I can remember. The kind of enthusiasm that, back at university, had me printing out the Linux kernel source just to sit and read it on paper.

In 2021 I moved to the UK. These days I am a software engineer, a father of two lovely children, and still as curious about how things work as I was then.

Outside the day job, most of my time goes into AI: building small experiments and side projects to see what is possible. This site is where I write about that, and where I keep the projects I have built.
